Three famous bakers sign up for Cybake
April 19, 2017
We are proud to announce three famous additions to the Cybake user family: J Grodzinski & Daughters, Bryson’s of Keswick and The Cake Shop Bakery.
The Cake Shop Bakery is the oldest business in the town of Woodbridge, Suffolk. The site on which it is located has been used as a bakery pretty much continuously for over 150 years. The Cake Shop Bakery itself was founded by Jonathan Wright in 1946. It is now run by his grandson and granddaughter, David and Lindsay Wright.
If this story sounds familiar, that’s because The Cake Shop Bakery won ITV’s Britain’s Best Bakery in 2014 (pictured, above). This makes for something of a double coup for us. The TV series’ other winner, Rutland’s Hambleton Bakery (in 2012) is also a big Cybake user.
J Grodzinski & Daughters is a legendary kosher bakery in North London with shops in Stamford Hill and Edgware.
Affectionately known locally as “Grods”, the business was founded in 1888 by Lithuanian émigrés Harris and Judith Grodzinski. In the 1960s, the company could lay claim to being the biggest kosher bakery in Western Europe. In the 1990s, the Grodzinski family expanded to Canada with bakeries in Toronto and nearby Thornhill.
Nowadays, as well as its three stores, J Grodzinski & Daughters also runs a big celebration cakes, catering and wholesale operation.
Bryson’s of Keswick was founded in 1947. Its tea rooms in Keswick and Windermere are must-visits on any trip to the Lake District. The business also runs a shop in Cockermouth and recently took over another local firm, Appleby Bakery, which added shops in Appleby-in-Westmorland and Kirby Stephens to its estate.
The takeover also added Appleby-branded favourites to Bryson’s already impressive range, which is available via wholesale via stockists all over the UK and beyond as well as mail order.
