Cybake streamlines retail and wholesale operations at Impasto Forno Antico

Impasto Forno Antico is an authentic Italian-style bakery in Avondale Heights, a suburb in the north-west of Melbourne, Australia.
Avondale Heights is home to a large Italian community and the bakery has been a hit with locals and visitors alike since it opened in 2014, adding a bustling café and gelateria two years later.
Impasto Forno Antico (which loosely translates as “baked the old way”), is run by Alessio Villani and his father Armando (both pictured, above). The third- and second-generation bakers are best known for their award-winning ciabatta, as well as their focaccia, pizza and range of sourdough breads and pastries.
In addition to its retail operation, the bakery supplies around 100 wholesale customers, including high-end restaurants, cafes and small independent supermarkets.
Before using Cybake, the business relied on Excel spreadsheets and hand-written notes.
Alessio Villani says: “We came to the decision that it had got too much to handle with Excel and remembering things. It was definitely time for software to manage everything. We came across Cybake after a lot of research, and it seemed a great fit for what we needed.”
Order processing
The bakery uses Cybake for both the retail and wholesale sides of its business for processing its orders, scheduling production, and managing its recipes.
“Our store is one of our customers on the Cybake platform, so we can spit out our production and spit out more accurate data,” explains Alessio. “We use it mainly for data and production purposes.”
Asked whether Cybake has improved these processes, Alessio replies: “It has just streamlined everything. It has a customer history, so it comes with standard orders, which is perfect. For production scheduling, you can see what your production is for the week with one click. It has been fantastic for storing our information.”
