Webinar aims to help food-to-go operators conquer their fear of waste

Food operations expert Matt Cundrick and Cybake CEO Ali Lyons will host a free live webinar on Thursday, July 17th entitled “How to conquer your fear of waste: a webinar for food-to-go and in-store bakery operators.”
Matt, a well-known industry commentator and consultant, and Ali, who headed up food divisions at both M&S and Morrisons before joining Cybake, will examine the reasons why, right now, food to go and in-store bakery operators are increasingly waste-averse.
They will discuss how increased labour costs have tightened P&Ls over the last eighteen months to drive this fear; why increasing product prices is not an option; and how waste aversion can stifle NPD innovation, leading operators to play it too safe and miss sales.
Drawing on their experience in the field, they will then explore the ways that, far from being something to shy away from, operators can control waste and set it to the level they want. And how optimising waste levels helps stores increase freshness, availability, and sales.
Topics will include: product forecasting; reducing daily waste; staff compliance; and the use of data-driven insights to make smarter stocking decisions. Plus, Matt and Ali will answer questions from our audience.
