Cybake team to launch Baker Direct online home deliveries directory

In response to the COVID-19 emergency, RedBlack Software’s Cybake team is set to launch Baker Direct, a new online directory of bakeries that are offering a home deliveries service in the UK and Ireland.
Bakeries that wish to be included on the site are strongly urged to contact bakerdirect@cybake.com ASAP. Listings are completely free.
The initiative was created after users of its popular Cybake bakery management system started telling RedBlack that they were introducing home deliveries to support their local communities.
As orders from their usual customers like restaurants, hotels and schools, have disappeared, many wholesale bakeries are shifting their focus to keeping their local populations fed. With the UK and Ireland now in total lockdown, retail bakeries are now also introducing delivery services for their housebound customers.
These new bakery home delivery services are springing up all over the UK. Baker Direct aims to give British and Irish consumers a quick and easy way to find and connect to them.
Jane Tyler, managing director of RedBlack, says: “The demand for fresh bakery products has been brought into stark focus by the recent panic buying. Households in lockdown are already missing fresh bread and other bakery products, so bakeries that continue through the crisis are doing their respective nations proud. Our aim is to support them all the way.”
“Bakers Direct is very easy to use with postcode search,” explains Tyler. “We want to encourage people to buy locally rather than from the over-stretched supermarkets. If you have already switched to home deliveries or are thinking about doing so as a way of serving your community and keeping your ovens going through the emergency, please get in touch.”
