Cybake User Update #2: full details of recent enhancements
Thanks for the feedback about our first Cybake User Update and welcome to my second roundup of recent new features and improvements.
The aim of this new series of articles is to explore new things you can do with Cybake in more detail than our regular release notes.
If you have any questions or need help with any of these new features, or like the look of modules that you don’t use but would like to know more about, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Plan production using component lead times
Cybake’s new “By demand” production planning option makes it easier to plan ahead for make-to-order products and long-running standing orders.
Select a production date and Cybake will consider future orders, and their component lead times, adding only the components that need to be made on that date. This works in a similar way to Cybake’s preparation sheets, helping production teams make the right components at the right time.

Better planning for recipe components
We’ve made production planning more flexible by giving bakeries greater control over which recipe components are added to production plans.
The existing “Include recipe components” toggle allows users to automatically add recipe components when planning production. However, not every component needs to be made each time it is required. Items with a longer shelf life, such as mixed seeds, can often be produced in larger batches and stocked for use over several days.
You can now choose which components are included when using “Include recipe components”. This means regularly stocked components can be left out, helping avoid unnecessary small batches and creating production plans that better reflect how your bakery works.

Picking improved with two new enhancements
We’ve made Cybake’s picking feature more flexible and efficient, helping bakeries streamline picking, packing and delivery.
Cybake allocates orders to picking baskets and generates Avery-compatible label PDFs or CSV files for your labelling software. This can also help staff load vans in delivery order for faster drop-offs, while recording the number of baskets used for each delivery.
Previously, all products included in label picking needed a basket capacity. Now, products that are packed separately in boxes, bags or other packaging, such as cakes and delicate items, can be included in the same picking process without being allocated to a basket.
We’ve also optimised the way products are distributed between baskets. Cybake now prioritises full baskets before part-full ones, helping pickers work more efficiently. It also intelligently balances remaining quantities, avoiding unnecessary splits and reducing near-empty baskets where possible.
Together, these enhancements provide a more practical, flexible picking process that better reflects how products are packed and picked in the bakery.

New minimum order quantity for online sales
We have added a much-requested new feature in Cybake’s online ordering module for wholesale bakeries, aka Cybake Shop.
Cybake has had a minimum order quantity within its online ordering module for quite some time, but due to popular demand, we now have added minimum order value.
The minimum order value works with the same logic as the minimum order quantity and follows the same warnings.

Minimum order value can be set as a default, and/or per customer. If the minimum order value threshold is not met for daily or standing orders, Cybake won’t save the order and will indicate to the customer how much they need to add on to complete it.

Customisable dashboards for Cybake ISB
If you use our Cybake ISB retail production planning and management app, you may have already noticed that the way its interface works has been updated.
The Cybake’s ISB app interface consists of a number of dashboard tiles for different reports or functions.
Not all tiles are relevant to every business model, and so some of the tiles become redundant and confusing to the users. Customers that use Cybake ISB can work with our implementation or support team to choose the tiles relevant to display to their users.

Retail: see ingredient usage in sold or wasted products
Good news for users of Cybake’s BI reports for retailers and users of Cybake ISB. We have now added a view of the usage of ingredients within finished products.
Now, when a finished product is sold or wasted, the ingredient level used to make that product is reported as a sold or wasted quantity as per its original production plan.

Driver delivery app gets new integrations
We have integrated our Outbound driver delivery app with MaxOptra route scheduling software.
Cybake now feeds customers, routes and orders into MaxOptra, so that MaxOptra can be used to manage vehicles, drivers, route optimisation and van tracking
We have also enhanced our interface with Microlise fleet management and delivery software.
Microlise recently added functionality which calculates time per drop, so we have added on-site duration as an EDI option to reflect this, rather than using Cybake’s method of maintaining a drop start and end time against every customer.
