Cybake partners with C-Store Collective to support fresh food production in convenience retailers

Cybake ISB in use in Heart of England Co-operative retail stores

Cybake has partnered with C-Store Collective to help convenience retailers improve their fresh food and food to go operations.

Hull, Yorkshire-based C-Store Collective is a convenience retail consultancy founded by Jonathan Rons, Mike Igoe and John Heagney. Together with its associates and industry experts, the team brings more than 100 years of combined experience in convenience retail.

C-Store Collective works with retailers, suppliers and other businesses across the convenience sector. Its services include business coaching and consultancy, expert advice, study tours, site acquisitions and development, and brand ambassador support.

The partnership centres around Cybake ISB, our in-store production planning and forecasting system for supermarkets, convenience stores, forecourt operators and retail bakery chains. The system helps retailers improve availability, increase sales and cut waste across their in-store bakery and food to go operations.

Using forecasts and real time sales data, Cybake ISB creates production plans throughout the day, telling store colleagues what to make or bake, how much to make and when. This means teams produce the right amount of fresh food at the right times, rather than relying on guesswork or producing everything at the start of the day.

Cybake ISB also gives colleagues preparation instructions on tablets or mobiles, with recipe, ingredient, allergen and nutritional information available when they need it. Managers and head office teams can see what is happening across their stores through KPI screens and reports.

The partnership combines C-Store Collective’s knowledge and experience of the convenience sector with Cybake’s technology for managing fresh food production. Together, the two companies will help retailers improve the way fresh food is planned and produced in store, while keeping a closer eye on availability and waste.

Food to go

Cybake ISB is already being used by convenience and forecourt retailers to manage fresh food production.

Heart of England Co-operative uses Cybake ISB to manage in-store bakery and hot food-to-go production across its stores. Within weeks of introducing the system, the retailer reported a 20% increase in hot food to go sales. [Read more here]

Park Garage Group also uses Cybake ISB across its Bakery 79 sites. Store teams use the system to see what they need to make, how much they need, and when they need it, helping the business improve availability and reduce waste. [Read more here]

Jonathan Rons, Co Founder of C Store Collective, says: “Freshly prepared food is no longer an optional extra within convenience retail. It has become one of the key reasons customers choose one store over another.

“That’s why I’m delighted to be partnering with Cybake. Their technology gives retailers the tools to make smarter operational decisions, while C-Store Collective helps businesses develop the strategy, processes and commercial focus needed to maximise the opportunity.”

Ali Lyons, CEO of Cybake, says: “C-Store Collective really understands convenience retail and the challenges retailers face when it comes to fresh food. We’re delighted to be working with Jonathan and the team to help more retailers improve availability, increase sales and cut waste with Cybake ISB.”
